In 1974 Joseph Charles Sorrentino started Sorrentino Construction Company in the town of Port Charlotte, Florida. At the urging of his father Louis, himself a building contractor in Long Island, New York. The first thing Joseph did for his company was to build a model home, and from that one model, the business began to grow. From humble beginnings, Sorrentino Construction Company has evolved into a nationally-known and respected multimillion dollar company.
Sorrentino Construction built nearly 600 custom luxury estate homes in Florida before branching out into light commercial projects. It soon found a niche in health –care related projects, particularly assisted living centers, senior communities and nursing homes. That expanded into child care centers, as well retail stores and shopping centers, and now the company is engaged in constructing several sizable hotels.
In addition to being a certified general contractor in Florida, the company is a licensed building contractor in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi, a registered general contractor in Wyoming, and eligible to do business in over 25 states. They are also certified swimming pool contractors in Florida. Corporate leadership includes licensed real estate brokers and associates in the states of Florida and New York.
The company’s projects range between the $1 and $10 million level. Recent hurricanes have also involved the company in a great deal of post-disaster reconstruction, especially with private estate residences. The great skill of the company however has been its ability to operate in four or more states simultaneously while still maintaining the close supervision and exacting standards which has long been the hallmark of Sorrentino Construction Company. |
